There are three levels of certification's for scaffolding.

The levels are basic scaffolding (SB Ticket Licence), intermediate scaffolding (SI Ticket Licence) and advanced scaffolding (SA Ticket Licence). These are designed for participants to gain the necessary skills to erect and disassemble scaffolding.

About Basic Scaffolding Course in Perth

This unit (Basic Scaffolding Course) defines the outputs needed to erect, alter and disassemble scaffolding at the basic level, consisting of scaffolding work related to the function or use of modular or prefabricated scaffolding, cantilevered material hoists with a maximum working load of 500kg, ropes and gin wheels, safety nets and static lines, and bracket scaffolding (tank and formwork)

Basic Scaffolding Course covers the scope of work including basic scaffolding duties, to schedule the work, pick and inspect the equipment, set up the job, set up the scaffolding and scaffolding equipment and dismantle the scaffolding and scaffolding equipment.

Basic Scaffolding Course Learning Outcomes

  • Compliance with Commonwealth, state or territory OHS legislation, standards relevant to safe dogging and crane operations.
  • Conducting pre and post operational checks of the lifting equipment.
  • Using fibre and/or synthetic rope as tag lines, and connecting to loads using clove hitch, rolling hitch, bowline and single sheetbend.
  • Moving loads in conjunction with cranes including, the reading of tags, slinging, loading, directing and landing loads with a slewing mobile crane with a telescopic boom and a winch, in and out of sight of the crane/ operator, moving four loads of varying shapes, sizes and weights.
  • Communication and working safely with others in the work area.
  • Hazard prevention and control measures consistent with appropriate standards.

Typical Course Entry Requirements

  • You do not need prior experience of scaffolding operations.
  • You must be able to read, write and communicate in the English Language to a level that would ensure safe operation in an Australian workplace.
  •  You must be free of any physical or medical condition that may affect the safe undertaking of Basic Scaffolding work.
  • You need to be at least 18 years to undertake this course due to WorkSafe WA Licencing Requirements.

What is Scaffolding?
