Chainsaw Training Course  (We come train at your site)

Topics covered on course :

• Attitude to and of use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Occupational Hazards
• Basic safety and familiarisation
• Maintenance and Sharpening procedures
• Operating a Chainsaw including:
  • cross cutting sequence
  • assessing internal stress
  • removing fallen trees
  • windblow
  • limbing
  • butt trimming
  • crowning

Suitability :
For persons over the age of 18. Students must also be free of any physical or medical condition that may affect the safe operation of a chainsaw, and speak the english language to a level that would ensure safe operation in an Australian workplace.

Personal Protective Equipment required includes close fitting Overalls or work clothes with long sleeves & trousers, safety boots, helmet, ear muffs, visor (preferred) or safety glasses/goggles, glov

Prerequisites :

• Prerequisite unit of competency: None

Outcome :

• Statement of Attainment for the nationally recognised unit of competency RTC2304A Operate and maintain chainsaws

One or Two Days depending on the level of training required.
